Recently the ‘Rate the Raters’ research program presented an in-depth evaluation of 21 sustainability ratings, among which are well known sustainability ratings published by e.g. the Dow Jones, Bloomberg and Sustainalytics. The ATM Index received positive feedback and showed good practices on a number of evaluation criteria.
For its transparency, an important factor to create trust and add value to a rating, the ATM Index was evaluated as good practice. Furthermore, as the Index’ methodology seeks for forward looking and sustainable access to medicine practices, it scores well on the ‘focus on the future’ criterium. This is a key factor for ratings to evaluate how well prepared companies are for what lies ahead and for staying an influential rating.
The ATM Foundation will use the evaluation and recommendations to further develop and improve the Access to Medicine Index in the future.
Rate the Raters is a four-phase research program in which UK based consultancy SustainAbility is working to better understand the universe of corporate sustainability ratings in order to influence and improve their quality and transparency.
