This area describes our colleagues from the NGO, academia and intergovernmental sectors as well as other organizations that share the same vision to serve the particular goal of improving access to medicine worldwide.
We engage with this vital group through our regular methodology review process and through a local workshop that is organized on an annual basis to ensure ongoing engagement and involvement of local players in the development of the Index. This process not only focuses on feedbacks for improvements in the framework but also aims at exploring ways to make the Index more useful to players on the ground.
In 2009, this workshop was held in Nairobi, Kenya where eighteen local NGOs were represented in a two-day workshop. Feedback from the roundtable was both diverse and rich. Along with the online survey, multi-stakeholder roundtables and other input sources, comments from the Nairobi workshop were one of the sources of stakeholder feedback used in the methodology update process.
